Chinese New Year Elderly Communion

Each one of us can do a good deed, everyday and everywhere. This time, Ave Maria Garden went to a nursing home in Shatin to celebrate Chinese New Year with the seniors. Today we had from age 6 to age 95, and we had an English speaker who gave out her new year greetings Kung Hei Fat Choy, Sun Tai Kin Hong, in Cantonese too! Lovely and Sweet! ?????????
A big applause for our little angel Horace Tsui who is a Clarionet beginner but performed with confidence! Mr. YK Leung did not only teach us a fun and easy workout , but sang along with our seniors too . Last but not least, thank our Spiritual Director, Fr. Paul Leung who introduced Mama Mary to all participants today. Though there are not many Catholics living here, many of them raised their hands and wanted Mama Mary’s blessing! That’s the sweetest moment of the visit and leave a happy problem for our volunteers to run a second round of gifting. ??????? ???
In a nursing home, it’s easy to be lonely, even in the midst of a roomful of people. This time, when we were giving out our Ave Maria Gardens, we prepared one extra flower and let the seniors to finish it by themselves. This extra interaction created an extra personal touch that brought them both a big accomplishment and comfort. Thank our volunteers today for the great ideas and put “Love God, Love Neighbor” into action. May you be blessed abundantly… ???
Are you interested in joining our activities? We welcome both Chinese/English speakers. WhatsApp us on 5931-1863. Look forward to meeting you soon!
